It can be challenging to take the first step in releasing the parts of us that no longer serve us. Wherever you are in your journey, I would be grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside you. Allow me to introduce myself:
Hi, I’m Savanna, a Licensed Professional Counselor providing holistic and weight-inclusive care for presenting concerns related to eating disorders, body image, trauma, and women’s issues. Although I enjoy working with individuals through all different seasons of life, I most often work with adolescents and young adults. As a person-centered therapist, I utilize a warm and authentic approach encouraging my clients to learn more about themselves, their identity, and their values. In session, we will strengthen the mind-body-soul connection while integrating therapeutic modalities such as internal family system (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and feminist theory. I aspire to assist my clients in finding compassion and connection to their bodies despite existing in a difficult culture. To me, holistic mental health care in essential as I pride myself in treating the whole person in front of me rather than a diagnosis.
Initially from Phoenix, Arizona I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology at Arizona State University. I moved to Illinois in 2019 to pursue my Master’s in Counseling at Northwestern University where I fell in love with Chicago. When not working with clients, I enjoy practicing yoga, walking with my dog by the lakefront, and reading novels.
